Beginning of my creations....
1) In this desgin i have used cut out cards on pva glue and also i did a colour transfer by cutting out crayons and ironing afterwards.
2) In this desgin i have used candle wax on pva glue
3)In this design i used tissue paper on pritt stick glue and later use a bleach to make the outline of the desgin which brough out a different rusty tone from the tisse paper.
4) Though it may look a thread line might be underneath the paper, but it's actually a print taken from the desgin itself. i used string of thread to form the shape and pva glue spread ontop.
My burning experiments.
I used a candle to slowly burn segments of a plastic bag handle. I then produced a pattern on photoshop by repeating the image.
I carefully let the flame of a candle smoke this piece of card to create a smokey pattern. I'm going to do few more experiments on this using stencils to block out segments of the smoke.
For this one I rapped a thin piece of rope around a rolling pin. I really like how the print looks like branches growing.

Logbook samples
I created this sample by mixing black and gold acrylic paint with water and then sprinkling salt over the top, i particualy like the way the colours have merged.
Here i rolled string around a paintbust and then brused on acrylic paint and then rolled it down the paper.
This sample was also made using string, but this time i soaked the string in ink amd added multiple layers to give a more busy look.

My first visual studies lesson was dynamic and motivating. I am used to a more formal style of lesson, concentrating on a still life to produce two or three detailed images, whereas in this lesson we worked quickly spending no more than five minutes on each sketch. We worked from images of paintings from a number of different movements.
The result was a fluid, linear approach, emphasising the shape and space surrounding the details in the image.
