TFD1126 VISUAL RESEARCH THE AIMS

This module aims to introduce you to the subject of visual research incorporating drawing and colour and its relationship to textile design.

You will develop the use and application of a wide range of materials and techniques related to the development of visual research and ideas.

Further you will develop a personal visual vocabulary which will promote greater awareness of visual perception and sensitivity.


A diverse range of materials and techniques will be explored.  An analytical approach will be encouraged to promote the evaluating and selection of methods of observation and the recording of visual and colour information.  A perceptual and aesthetic understanding will be encouraged relating visual research to textile design as well as a personal direction for the work.
